RB Leipzig analysis: Why Xavi Simons is hot property - Champions League clubs linked

Xavi Simons is one of the most wanted talents in Europe at the moment, with several big-hitters keen on the Dutchman.

The 22-year-old made his loan move at RB Leipzig permanent from Paris Saint-Germain last January in a deal worth £42million.

However, the Bundesliga side could be set to make a profit on the attacking midfielder this summer.

Why is Xavi Simons a wanted man?

Xavi Simons was on fire for RB Leipzig last season

The Dutch international has been sought after by the European Elite since he was a teenager.

Coming through the youth ranks at Barcelona, Simons signed his first professional contract in France with PSG.

Since then, the forward has thrived at PSV and Leipzig, but could now be on the lookout to make the next step in his career.

With 19 goal involvements in 33 appearances last campaign, Simons will not to be short of suitors.

Would RB Leipzig sell Xavi Simons?

The Dutchman is currently valued at roughly £70million, which would price out a lot of interested clubs.

However, Leipzig could be forced into a sale or face losing Simons for free, who has just over two years left on his contract with the German side.

City have already signed Rayan Cherki from Lyon, whereas Florian Wirtz is seemingly Liverpool-bound, meaning neither would make a move this summer.

The likes of Arsenal, Bayern Munich, Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United could look to Simons as a potential attacking option if the opportunity arises.

Either way, Simons’ versatility across the attack would be fantastic for whoever he ends up with.
