Soccer betting tips: Jamie Vardy tipped with move to Wrexham and Leeds Utd

Leicester City captain Jamie Vardy announced that he will leave the club at the end of the season last week.

With a Red Bull in hand, Vardy has most certainly had a party in the 13 years he has spent at the King Power Stadium.

The 38-year-old has made a whopping 497 appearances for the Foxes, scoring 198 goals, and was part of the famous Leicester side that won the Premier League title in 2016.

In his announcement, the eccentric centre-forward insisted that his departure was “not retirement”.

With that in mind, Transfer News Blitz’s Content Editor Edward Moss has uncovered the best odds for where Vardy will end up next.

Wrexham

After back-to-back-to-back promotions, Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenny’s Wrexham gained Championship status after a 3-0 win over Charlton.

Since their ‘Hollywood’ takeover, the Welsh outfit have been able to attract players well above their weight.

Famously, Paul Mullin left League One Cambridge United for the Red Dragons, who were then in the National League - England’s fifth tier.

The likes of Jay Rodriguez, James McClean and Steven Fletcher have since followed suit, with Vardy the latest big name linked to the Racecourse.

However, I wouldn’t place your bets here - the former England international has made it clear he would prefer a move back to the Premier League.

BEST ODDS: 7/4 (BetVictor)

Any Scottish club

Realistically, there are only two Scottish teams that Vardy could be tempted to join, Celtic or Rangers.

With both sides able to offer European football, they could be able to convince the legendary Leicester striker to trade England for Scotland.

While a move North of the border does look unlikely, it is certainly not out of the realm of possibility.

Any MLS club

After becoming a co-owner of American club Rochester New York, a leap across the pond to the United States and the MLS would not exactly be surprising.

Lionel Messi and Luis Suárez are only a couple of the megastars who have moved to the MLS in recent years, skyrocketing the division’s global popularity.

Unfortunately, I don’t think we will be seeing Vardy versus Messi anytime soon…

Sheffield Wednesday

It is no secret that Vardy is a boyhood Sheffield Wednesday fan, so naturally, the Owls have been tipped as potential suitors.

While the veteran forward still believes he has what it takes to compete in the Premier League, a ‘homecoming’ could be tempting.

Vardy was part of the youth system at Wednesday before being released, and at 38, this could realistically be his last chance to return.

I could really see this one happening - a fairytale ending to what has been a fairytale career, but with 10 Premier League goal contributions this season, there is every chance Vardy will end up back in the top-flight next season.

BEST ODDS: 8/1 (BetVictor)

Leeds United

Leeds United are officially back in the Premier League, and could clinch the Championship title with a win over Plymouth Argyle in their last game.

In recent years, newly promoted sides have infamously struggled to survive in England’s top league, even after spending vast amounts of cash.

Although Vardy has something that money can’t buy - experience.

With 143 goals in 339 top-flight appearances, the Englishman would be invaluable on and off the pitch for a side looking to stay up.

With Vardy available on a free transfer, it should be a no-brainer to bring him in, especially for a newly promoted club.

BEST ODDS: 12/1 (BetVictor)
