Bayern Munich news: Vincent Kompany eyes Takefusa Kubo to replace Galatasaray-bound Leroy Sane

Leory Sane is set to sign a three-year deal with Turkish giants Galatasaray.

The German international’s contract at the Allianz Arena expires at the end of June, and despite interest from Premier League sides is Turkey-bound.

Why Leroy Sane?

Leroy Sane has officially left Bayern Munich.

Since making his Bundesliga return from Manchester City in 2020, Sane has relit his career with Bayern Munich.

Last season, the forward was a starter under Thomas Tuchel, with 45 appearances including 13 goals and six assists.

The 29-year-old has played down either flank throughout his career, showing off his electric speed and fantastic dribbling skills.

Galatasaray need another big name following Victor Osimhen's return to Napoli from his loan spell.

Alongside Sane, the Okan Buruk’s side will need an out-and-out striker to replace the Nigerian international.

Who will Bayern Munich replace Leroy Sane with?

Takefusa Kubo in action for Real Sociedad.

Takefusa Kubo is the name on Bayern Munich’s radar, and could be a fantastic replacement for Sane.

The Japanese forward has impressed over the last few seasons during loan spells at Getafe and Mallorca, but most recently, at Real Sociedad.

Last season, Kubo appeared 52 times for Sociedad in all competitions and tallied an impressive 13 goal contributions.

The highly rated winger would be a superb signing going forward for the Bavarians and has plenty of room to get even better.

With players like Michael Olise, Serge Gnabry and Jamal Musiala already at Bayern, the 24-year-old will have to battle for a spot in Vincent Kompany’s team.

The Bundesliga champions are reportedly also keen on a move for Athletic Bilbao and Spain star Nico Williams.
