Everton news: David Moyes confirms Toffees’ interest in Liam Delap as Man Utd also keen

As Everton prepare to say goodbye to Goodison Park, the blue half of Merseyside is anticipating a huge summer transfer window ahead of their move to Bramley-Moore Dock.

The Toffees looked in danger of a relegation scrap before Sean Dyche was replaced by veteran manager David Moyes in January.

Positioned comfortably mid-table in the Premier League, Everton will be hoping to kick on as they enter a new era.

Everton chase Liam Delap

Following an impressive debut campaign in the English top-flight, Ipswich Town’s Liam Delap is not short of potential suitors.

Speaking after Everton’s draw with the Tractor Boys, Moyes made it clear he would like to bring the centre-forward to Merseyside.

The Scotsman said: “He [Delap] would be one who we would certainly have an interest in.

“I think what he probably has to look at will probably be bigger than what we are.

“So we would certainly be interested if was interested in us, that is for sure.”

Fellow Premier League sides Manchester United, Chelsea and Newcastle United have also been linked with a move for the 22-year-old.

Everton are clearly ready to join the race for the Englishman, who has a release clause of just £30million following Ipswich’s relegation to the Championship.

Liam Delap right at home in the Premier League

Following Ipswich Town’s back-to-back promotions from League One to the Premier League, many had Kieran McKenna’s men relegated before a ball had been kicked.

While all three newly promoted sides have gone straight back down, the Tractor Boys have done so fighting.

In his maiden Premier League campaign, Delap has bagged 12 times, having made up 34% of Ipswich’s league goals this season.

The former Manchester City youngster has caught the eyes of several big clubs and will undoubtedly be back in the top-flight next season.

Delap is certainly going to be one of the bargains of the summer.
