Soccer betting tips: Cristiano Ronaldo set to leave Al-Nassr ahead of possible Lionel Messi matchup at FIFA Club World Cup
Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al-Nassr contract is set to expire at the end of June, but where will the Portuguese megastar end up next?
Following the end of the Saudi Pro League season, the 40-year-old alluded to his departure from Stefano Pioli’s side on his social media channels.
The five-time Ballon d’Or winner wrote: “This chapter is over. The story? Still being written.”
Ahead of the fresh-faced Club World Cup, in which Lionel Messi’s Inter Miami are set to compete, rumours have been running rampant about Ronaldo’s future.
With that in mind, Transfer News Blitz’s Edward Moss has looked at where Ronaldo has been tipped to go next…
Sporting
Having swapped Lisbon for Manchester 22 years ago in 2003, could Ronaldo reunite with Sporting?
While Rui Borges’ side are not set to compete in the upcoming Club World Cup, it is hard to see Ronaldo sign for another Portuguese team.
After all, Sporting quite literally made a kit dedicated to the legendary ‘CR7’ in the 2023/24 season.
With current frontman Viktor Gyokeres likely to depart the Estádio José Alvalade this summer, it would leave a very convenient spot open at the spearhead of Sporting’s frontline.

Any MLS club
In a potential move which would send shockwaves around the globe, Ronaldo has been tipped with a switch to the United States of America.
Of course, this would see the Portuguese international go head-to-head with Messi once again… or maybe even join up with the Argentine.
While a move to Inter Miami does seem very unlikely, other MLS sides could be a viable option.
Seattle Sounders are already qualified for the Club World Cup, whereas Los Angeles FC face a play-off with Mexican outfit Club América for a spot in the competition.
Ronaldo could also consider other American sides, but if he intends to play in the summer competition, those are his options.

Al-Hilal
During Ronaldo’s Saudi Pro League stint, the legendary forward has failed to lift a single piece of silverware.
On the other hand, Asia’s most decorated club, Al-Hilal, have won five trophies in the seasons since the former Real Madrid and Manchester United man’s arrival.
With an extremely deep wallet, it is surely not completely out of the realm of possibility that Al-Hilal could tempt Ronaldo into staying in Saudi Arabia.

Any Mexican club
With CF Monterrey, CF Pachuca and possibly Club América all set to play in the Club World Cup, Mexico could be a surprise destination for Ronaldo.
Mexican clubs tend to dominate CONCACAF, however, they lack the same financial backing as those in the MLS.
It would certainly be an odd move, but stranger things have happened…

Fenerbahçe
Having scored 35 goals in all competitions this season, Ronaldo is still very much at the peak of his powers, with a return to Europe surely on the cards.
Turkish side Fenerbahçe, who are currently led by former Real Madrid boss Jose Mourinho, are among the bookies' favourites.
The Portuguese duo spent three years together in the Spanish capital and will be more than familiar with each other.
Could ‘the Special One’ be able to convince Ronaldo to join him in Istanbul?
