Tottenham analysis: AI predicts Spurs sign Crystal Palace and England duo Marc Guehi and Adam Wharton this summer

Sat just one place above the relegation zone, it is safe to say that Tottenham Hotspur have had a pretty shocking campaign.

With 20 Premier League defeats and almost as many injuries this season, it feels as though it never rains but always pours at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

However, Spurs do have a shot at redemption.

The North Londoners travel to Bilbao on May 21, where they take on Manchester United in the Europa League final, with Champions League football - and of course a European trophy - on the line.

With that in mind, Transfer News Blitz’s Edward Moss has asked X’s Artificial Intelligence, Grok, to predict Tottenham’s summer transfers.

Marc Guehi, Crystal Palace

After another hugely impressive campaign at Selhurst Park, Grok has tipped Spurs to make a move for centre-back Marc Guehi.

Tottenham are long-standing admirers of the Englishman, having reportedly had a £70million offer turned down in January by Crystal Palace.

With just one year left on his current deal, the Eagles could be forced to sell the 24-year-old this summer, or face letting him leave for free in 12 months.

Spurs are in dire need of defensive reinforcements, and Guehi would certainly be a welcome addition in North London.

Newcastle United are reportedly also said to be keen on the England international.

Adam Wharton, Crystal Palace

Adam Wharton has had an injury-hit season - maybe that's why Grok has identified the Englishman as a possible summer target for Tottenham Hotspur.

Certainly a more unrealistic suggestion, the 21-year-old has attracted interest from some of Europe’s biggest clubs, including fellow Premier League side Liverpool.

Spurs need a progressive passer in their midfield, and with Wharton’s ability to control games from the middle of the park, he would be the dream candidate.

While the England international could well leave South London this summer, Crystal Palace will likely set a huge asking price.

Matheus Cunha, Wolverhampton Wanderers

Up there with Liam Delap as the most sought-after forward in the Premier League, Grok believes Tottenham are in with a chance of landing the tricky Brazilian.

Matheus Cunha has been heavily linked with a move to Old Trafford this summer, but that certainly does not rule out Spurs.

With a £62.5million release clause, the 25-year-old is an affordable option and would bolster Tottenham’s current attacking options.

Next week’s Europa League final could have a huge say on where Cunha will end up next season.

Jamie Gittens, Borussia Dortmund

Following the trend of skilful attackers, Grok has earmarked Borussia Dortmund’s Jamie Gittens as another potential transfer target.

The England U21 international has caught the eye of both Arsenal and Chelsea, who are ready to battle it out for his signature.

After a sparkingly start to the season, Gittens’ form has nosedived in the second half of Dortmund’s campaign, which could see the Bundesliga outfit open to a sale.

Tottenham would face fierce competition for the 20-year-old, but a spot in next year’s Champions League would vastly improve their chances.

Jonathan Tah, Bayer Leverkusen

Seemingly heading to freshly-crowned Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich, Grok has identified the out-of-contract defender as a key summer target for Spurs.

Jonathan Tah is not short of potential suitors, with Barcelona and Manchester United also keen on the German.

The 29-year-old would be a superb signing for any team, but the likelihood that Tah will be heading to North London this summer is very slim.
