Aston Villa news: Unai Emery targets Jadon Sancho as other Premier League clubs also keen
Jadon Sancho has found himself in a tricky spot following his loan spell at Chelsea.
The Blues decided not to follow through with the permanent signing, which meant they had to pay Manchester United £5million to hand the Englishman back to Old Trafford.
Ruben Amorim has no plans on keeping the 25-year-old, and the forward is now on the lookout for his next chapter.
After a strong end to the campaign, where Sancho bagged five goals and 10 assists in all competitions, several Premier League clubs, including Aston Villa, have taken note.
Jadon Sancho to stay in the Premier League.
Jadon Sancho enjoyed a solid loan spell at Chelsea.
According to The Sun, Sancho has attracted the interest of Newcastle United, Tottenham Hotspur and Villa, all of which have qualified for Europe next season.
With Man United signing Matheus Cunha and expressing interest in Brentford forward Bryan Mbeumo, it is clear that Sancho is not part of Amorim’s plans as the Red Devils look to move on this summer.
The forward’s high salary could prove difficult to permanently offload the winger, who has already been out on loan twice since signing for United in 2021.
Another loan spell is likely on the cards for Sancho, who recently scored in Chelsea’s Conference League final victory and was a part of the Borussia Dortmund squad that reached the Champions League final in 2024.
With a move to Newcastle or Spurs firmly on the cards, the Englishman could well feature in the Champions League next season.
Aston Villa favourites for Jadon Sancho loan deal
Having signed Marco Asensio and Marcus Rashford on loan in January after the departure of Jhon Duran, Aston Villa will once again be looking to bolster their attacking options.
Unai Emery’s side just missed out on Champions League football on the final day of the season and will be hoping to be competitive enough to challenge in and around the top four next campaign.
Villa will need to act swiftly, as other teams vying for European football will also be looking to add to their squads.
As for Sancho, his career has been a whirlwind in recent years, but wherever he does end up, his experience will be vital as he looks to prove himself under the spotlight once more.
