Barcelona news: Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford joins Barcelona on loan
FC Barcelona have announced the arrival of England and Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford on loan for the upcoming season.
The 27-year-old had shown a keen interest in joining the Blaugrana ever since it was made clear that his future lay away from Old Trafford.
Rashford will become the first Englishman to play for Barca’s men’s team since Gary Lineker.
The Catalonians have the option to buy the forward at the end of his one-year loan deal for approximately £26million.
‘I feel at home’

Speaking to club media, Rashford shared his thoughts on his latest move.
“I’m very excited. This is a club where people’s dreams come true. It feels like I’m home,” said the England international.
He continued: “I think it’s a club every player wants to play for.
“They’ve [Barcelona] made me feel at home in these first few hours, everyone has made me feel very comfortable.”
The forward joins after a brief stint at Aston Villa, where he netted four goals and provided six assists in 17 appearances.
An extra option in attack
Rashford is expected to provide backup to starting winger Raphinha, but could also feature as an alternative to the ageing Robert Lewandowski.
The Manchester United academy graduate is set to wear the iconic number 14 shirt, once worn by Barça legend Johan Cruyff.
It is a busy period at the Spotify Camp Nou, and following this arrival, the club will work on departures in order to ensure registrations for all new signings.
