RB Leipzig news: Benjamin Sesko and Xavi Simons open to offers as Carney Chukwuemeka lined with Die Roten
Two of RB Leipzig’s biggest stars have been rumoured to leave the Red Bull Arena this summer.
Benjamin Sesko was heavily linked with Arsenal, however, as the Gunners close in on Viktor Gyokeres, several of Europe’s top teams are now keen on the Slovenian.
On the other hand, FIFA Club World Cup holders Chelsea are after Xavi Simons, who has been hot property for the last five years during spells with Paris Saint-Germain and PSV.
Real Madrid keen on Benjamin Sesko
After tearing up the Austrian Bundesliga with RB Salzburg, Sesko signed for Leipzig in the German top-flight in January 2023.
Since then, the 22-year-old has accomplished an impressive 39 goals in 87 games.
Battling for Champions League spots in the Bundesliga has been difficult, however, the centre-forward’s speed and power have helped RB break through defences and create chances on goal.
The Slovenia international has now reportedly been offered to LaLiga giants Real Madrid.
Although Manchester United and Newcastle United are also understood to be considering a move for the forward.
With Leipzig adamant on a transfer fee close to £100million, a deal could be out of reach for most teams.
Chelsea want Xavi Simons
Xavi Simons in Bundesliga action.
£50million is how much RB Leipzig paid PSG for Xavi Simons, after a successful 18-month loan with the club.
Now valued at £70million, the Dutchman looks set for a new challenge in the Premier League.
Chelsea are leading the charge for the Dutchman, and it is understandable why.
Deployed down the middle or out on the left, Simons has produced some incredible performances.
Notably, the 22-year-old bagged 19 goal involvements in 33 appearances last term, an impressive feat seeing as the forward missed a good chunk of the season due to injury.
RB Leipzig linked with Carney Chukwuemeka
If Simons heads to Chelsea, Leipzig may replace him with English talent Carney Chukwuemeka.
Playing either as an attacking or defensive midfielder with Borussia Dortmund last season, the 21-year-old has shown that he is a promising talent of Bundesliga quality.
Chukwuemeka has now returned to Chelsea after his loan spell at BVB, with links to a permanent move back to the German top flight.
RB could potentially try to include the Blues’ youngster in any approach made by the Stamford Bridge outfit for Simons.
Valued at £18million, RB Leipzig may sign the English midfielder in hopes to turn in for a profit in the future.
