Chelsea’s Carney Chukwuemeka and Aaron Anselmino fly to Germany as Dortmund deal nears completion
Two Chelsea players, Carney Chukwuemeka and Aaron Anselmino, have flown to Germany to complete moves to Borussia Dortmund, marking another major development in the summer transfer window.
Reports confirm that Chelsea and Dortmund have reached a full agreement for the transfer of Chukwuemeka on a permanent basis, with Anselmino set to join on a loan deal.
Medical exams for both players are expected shortly after their arrival.
The transaction is believed to be worth around £24 million including add-ons and a sell-on clause. Chukwuemeka’s transfer is permanent, while Anselmino joins on loan without an option to buy.
Chukwuemeka follows loan spell at Dortmund
Chukwuemeka, 21, spent the latter half of last season on loan at Dortmund.
The permanent deal now brings full closure to that agreement.
Meanwhile, Anselmino arrives from Chelsea having previously played only limited minutes in the Club World Cup and a pre-season friendly.
