Everton news: Toffees open contract talks with Jordan Pickford after impressive start to Premier League
Everton are ready to offer England goalkeeper Jordan Pickford a new contract at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.
Despite an opening weekend loss to Leeds United, the Toffees have got off to a brilliant start in the Premier League this season.
Positive results against Aston Villa, Brighton & Hove Albion and Wolverhampton Wanderers have left Everton sixth in the table.
David Moyes’ side next face a short, but tough trip to Anfield against Liverpool in the Merseyside derby, where they have only won once since 1999.

Everton to tie Jordan Pickford down
Following their positive start to the season, Everton have opened contract talks with Pickford, according to talkSPORT.
The English shot stopper currently has two years left on his current deal with the Toffees, having last put pen to paper on an extension in 2023.
After signing for the club in 2017 from Sunderland, the 31-year-old is understood to be settled in Merseyside and keen to sign a new contract.
Negotiations are currently at an early and informal stage, but the Friedkin Group are reportedly ready to tie Pickford down for at least another two more years.

Aged like a fine wine
While age appears to work against some players, Pickford seems to just get better and better.
The England international has been a loyal servant for Everton, sticking with the club through tough periods when relegation was a real possibility.
Pickford has been an assured presence at the back so far this season, keeping two clean sheets in the Premier League already.
At his current rate, Pickford is well on track to better his record of 12 from last term.
With one eye on next summer’s World Cup, Pickford will be keen to impress Three Lions boss Thomas Tuchel, and so far will have done just that.
