Man City news: Rodri and Ruben Dias set to sign new contracts at the Etihad Stadium
Manchester City pair Rodri and Ruben Dias are set to sign fresh contract extensions ahead of the upcoming Premier League season.
Six new faces have already come through the door at the Etihad Stadium, with the Cityzens now keen to tie down some of their current stars.
Shot stopper James Trafford is Pep Guardiola’s latest arrival, signing from newly-promoted Burnley in a deal worth £27million.
The Englishman will offer competition to City’s current first-choice goalkeeper, Ederson.
Manchester City to offer Rodri new deal
Rodri suffered a season-ending injury last term.
As per Fabrizio Romano, Man City are readying a new contract for Spanish midfielder Rodri, valid until 2029.
If an agreement is reached, the 29-year-old will become Manchester City’s second-highest-paid player behind goalscoring machine Erling Haaland.
The Spaniard is one of the Cityzens’ most important players, which was made even more apparent after an injury-plagued campaign last term.
Rodri suffered a cruciate ligament tear against Arsenal, being limited to just four appearances in all competitions as City lost their Premier League crown.
Ruben Dias to sign a new contract
Portuguese defender Dias is also set to extend his stay in the North West after featuring 41 times last season.
According to David Ornstein, Manchester City have reportedly reached an agreement in principle with the 28-year-old on a long-term deal.
Guardiola has been keen to secure the centre-back’s future, who is considered a key part of the Spaniard’s squad.
