Man City news: Tino Livramento and Rayan Ait-Nouri on Pep Guardiola’s radar
Manchester City are looking to revamp their defence as Pep Guardiola eyes Tino Livramento and Rayan Ait-Nouri.
After a poor campaign compared to their usual demanding standards, City were able to salvage a spot in next season’s Champions League with a third-place Premier League finish.
Although it was made abundantly clear throughout the year that major reinforcements were needed this summer.
Manchester City target Tino Livramento
According to Fabrizio Romano, Newcastle United right-back Livramento is one of City’s main defensive targets.
However, a deal could prove to be difficult for Manchester City, with Newcastle boss Eddie Howe keen to keep hold of the Englishman.
The 22-year-old made 45 appearances in all competitions this season as the Magpies went on to qualify for the Champions League and lift the Carabao Cup - their first trophy in 70 years.
Veteran full-back Kyle Walker, who has been on loan at AC Milan since January, is set to exit the Etihad this summer, meaning the Mancunians could go all out for Livramento.
Talks advancing for Rayan Ait-Nouri
Manchester City are also understood to be keen on Wolverhampton Wanderers defender Ait-Nouri.
The Algerian has reportedly already said yes to joining the Cityzens, with talks between the two clubs set to advance this week, as per Romano.
Since joining Wolves, Ait-Nouri has established himself as one of the best full-backs in the Premier League and registered five goals and seven assists in all competitions this campaign.
While traditionally a left-back, the 23-year-old has been deployed in a more advanced role further up the pitch by Vitor Pereira this season.
If City can get a deal over the line, Ait-Nouri would offer some much-needed quality competition for Josko Gvardiol.
