Real Madrid News: Rodrygo considering exit ahead of summer rebuild as Premier League giants spark interest

Real Madrid star Rodrygo is keen on leaving the Spanish capital for more consistent game time after a frustrating season.

The forward has not played as many minutes as he would have liked, as last season’s LaLiga winners and current Champions League holders are set for a period of transition with Carlo Ancelotti’s future in the air, after a disappointing campaign.

Transfer News Blitz writer Bilal Patel has explored the next potential destination for the Brazilian.

Premier League interest

The 24-year-old has been on the radar of several Premier League clubs, with Arsenal and Manchester United showing huge interest, according to The Sun.

Real Madrid could offload the forward for a fee upwards of £85million.

His current deal at the Bernabéu expires in 2028, but clubs could be willing to gamble on the Brazilian, who is highly rated with plenty of potential.

The bigger picture

Since Kylian Mbappé’s arrival last summer, Rodrygo has often been outshone in the forward line, which has affected his output.

He has provided just six goals and as many assists in LaLiga this season and has not contributed a league goal or assist since the end of January.

The sale of Rodrygo could give the club the green light for Florentino Pérez to secure other summer targets, such as Dean Huijsen and Florian Wirtz.

Other Clubs in the running

Many of the top Premier League clubs are on the lookout to increase their options in the wide areas.

The likes of Chelsea and Manchester City, who both compete in this summer’s Club World Cup, could also approach the forward to help improve their squads ahead of the new season.

With the uncertain futures of Jadon Sancho and Mykhailo Mudryk at Stamford Bridge, Rodrygo would be an upgrade for Enzo Maresca’s side as they could potentially be set to return in Europe’s elite competition.

As Pep Guardiola looks to continue his rebuild after a disappointing season with Man City, the Brazilian could spark creativity along the City frontline along with January signing Omar Marmoush.

There is a possibility Rodrygo stays with Los Blancos, as it is rumoured that Xabi Alonso could take over in the summer and could possibly convince the forward that he will be a part of the Spaniard’s plans.

Ultimately, Rodrygo would be an asset to whichever club he ends up joining.
