Blackburn Rovers news: Lewis Travis linked with EFL Championship sides as Valerien Ismael eyes new signings
Blackburn Rovers made their first signing of the summer last week, and it does not look like Valerien Ismael’s side are going to stop there.
Full-back Dion De Neve moved to Ewood Park from Belgian side KV Kortrijk in a deal worth £600,000.
With plenty of time left until the start of the 2025/26 Championship campaign, Rovers are bound to make some more additions.
Here, Transfer News Blitz writer Thomas Robinson has taken a look at the latest rumours surrounding the Lancashire club.
Lewis Travis linked with EFL Championship move
Lewis Travis in action for Blackburn Rovers.
The main worry for the Rovers faithful is the future of club captain Lewis Travis.
Newly promoted duo Birmingham City and Wrexham, as well as Derby County, see the midfielder as a potential target this summer.
It is believed that the Rams are favourites, with John Eustace’s side thought to be keen on several Blackburn players, including Andreas Weimann and Danny Batth.
After 263 appearances for the Blue and Whites, the 27-year-old’s future in the North West is up in the air.
Who could replace Lewis Travis?
Blackburn are reportedly looking at Reading’s Charlie Savage and Brian De Keersmaecker, who plays for Dutch side Heracles Almelo, to replace Travis.
While Savage is Rover’s first-choice target, big-hitters Birmingham and Wrexham also have tabs on the midfielder.
On the other hand, Ismael could turn to Keersmaecker, who featured 36 times in the Eredivisie last season.
However, it is understood that a deal for either player would rely on Travis’ departure.
Blackburn Rovers eye bargains from abroad
Promising youngster Casper Terho is a target for Blackburn Rovers.
Keen to add to their backline this summer, Blackburn have been weighing up a move for Legia Warsaw defender Steve Kapuadi.
Rovers were set to make a bid in the region of £2milliion, however, the DR Congo international is reportedly not keen on a move to the Championship.
Another player on Blackburn’s shopping list is Union Saint-Gilloise winger Casper Terho.
The 21-year-old spent a portion of the last campaign on loan at 2. Bundesliga side SC Paderborn and has since garnered interest from around Europe.
Go Ahead Eagles and Hertha BSC are both said to be in the race for the Finnish forward.
Blackburn are also understood to have Al-Ittihad’s Marwan Al-Sahafi on their radar.
The Saudi Arabian enjoyed a good loan spell at Beerschot VA last season, where he bagged seven goal contributions.
Belgian side Royal Antwerp are set to rival Rovers, with both sides reported to have made offers for the 21-year-old.
