Blackburn Rovers news: Who are on Rovers’ radar? Valerian Ismael keen to bring in winger
Following two defeats in two games to start the season, Valerian Ismael has confirmed the future of several senior players at Ewood Park.
After defeat to West Bromwich Albion on Saturday, the Frenchman revealed that goalkeeper Aynsley Pears and midfielder John Buckley will not be a part of his plans.
It is likely both will leave Blackburn Rovers if a suitable offer comes in, while captain Lewis Travis also has an uncertain future.
The Lewis Travis situation
Fellow Championship outfit Derby County have been eyeing up Travis since the start of the transfer window.
Blackburn set a price of £3million for the 27-year-old, with offers flying in from former boss John Eustace.
Rovers had reportedly turned down a £1.5million offer from the Rams and will not shift from their current valuation.
If the Lancashire outfit are to lose their captain, it may harm the rest of the squad, as a lack of leadership could cause issues on the pitch.

Valerian Ismael wants a right winger
Following defeat to Bradford City in the Carabao Cup, Ismael was quizzed about Rovers’ transfer business.
The Frenchman said: “I’m very keen for the window to end.
“The thing that is very difficult is that when you prepare with the team six weeks for the first game, then 10 days before kick-off, you have complete chaos.”
Despite exit rumours, Blackburn are keen to bring in competition for Ryan Hedges.
Who are the candidates?
Earlier in the window, Saudi Arabian winger Marwan Al-Sahafi was highly mentioned, and could still be a great signing for Rovers.
The 21-year-old was electric for Beerschot last season, grabbing six goals and one assist in 28 games.
Another potential option is FC St. Pauli’s Oladapo Afolayan, who netted three times last season in the Bundesliga.
The 27-year-old has had experience playing in England through various loan moves and a short stint at Bolton Wanderers.
Another Bundesliga star on the radar is Bochum’s Koji Miyoshi.
The Japanese international impressed since a January move from Birmingham City last term.
All three forwards would make strong additions to Ismael’s side with their pace and footwork.
