Why are so many clubs interested in Hugo Ekitike?
Hugo Ekitike battles for the ball.
Over the last two seasons, Ekitike has shown his immense talent across the frontline, whether that is scoring goals or setting them up.
Liverpool are understood to be hugely interested in the Frenchman, and a move to Merseyside could greatly improve the forward’s ability.
On the other hand, Arsenal, who are also keen, are in dire need of a centre-forward.
Ekitike’s pace and finishing ability could be ideal for the Gunners, who are lacking a serious presence in front of goal.
How could replace Hugo Ekitike at Eintracht Frankfurt?
Jonathan Burkardt celebrates a goal for Mainz.
Frankfurt already have three senior players that could easily transition into the starting lineup.
Elye Wahi produced some fantastic performances last season, while Michy Batshuayi has proven at many levels that he can score goals.
Meanwhile, Igor Matanovic is another option, although the Croatian is yet to be given a proper chance.
However, Mainz centre-forward Jonathan Burkardt has popped up on Frankfurt’s radar.
The 24-year-old has lit up the German top-flight over the last few campaigns, scoring 18 times last term for the Red and Whites.
The German international could help Dino Toppmoller’s side push up the Bundesliga table.
Valued at around £35million, Burkardt would also be a fairly cheap addition for Frankfurt, who could be set to make a huge profit on Ekitike.
