Eintracht Frankfurt news: Who will replace Kevin Trapp? New goalkeeper announced ahead of Bundesliga kick-off
Veteran goalkeeper Kevin Trapp has left Eintracht Frankfurt to join French side Paris FC.
The 35-year-old shot stopper has been passed between Paris Saint-Germain and Frankfurt throughout his career, but has now completed a move to Paris FC to help with their Ligue 1 survival bid.
With 89 Bundesliga clean sheets and 48 Ligue 1 clean sheets, the German will make a great addition to Stephane Gilli’s side, who were promoted to the French top-flight last term.
Although Trapp is not a long-term signing, his leadership skills will help the Parisians thrive, on and off the pitch.
For Frankfurt, another good goalkeeper is needed to fill the gap left by the German international.

Michael Zetterer signs for Eintracht Frankfurt
Following Trapp’s departure, in came Michael Zetterer to replace him.
The 30-year-old arrives from fellow Bundesliga side Werder Bremen for £5million.
The German keeper kept 22 clean sheets in 80 appearances for Bremen, helping the club to a mid-table Bundesliga finish last term.
Having had loan spells in the Eredivisie with PEC Zwolle and Austria with Klagenfurt, Zetterer has shown he can perform at the top level of European football.
With a campaign in the Champions League ahead this season, Frankfurt’s new shot stopper could be key.
Zetterer will still have competition for the starting spot at Deutsche Bank Park, with two young goalkeepers, Amil Siljevic and Kaua Santos, who are slowly gaining Dino Toppmoller’s trust in goal.
