Man City news: AC Milan star Tijjani Reijnders set to complete Premier League switch
Manchester City are closing in on a deal to sign Tijjani Reijnders from Italian giants AC Milan.
The Cityzens are also set to seal the signing of Rayan Ait-Nouri from Wolverhampton Wanderers in a move worth around £33million.
After losing their Premier League crown to North West rivals Liverpool, City are ready to undertake a huge rebuild this summer.
Tijjani Reijnders to sign for Manchester City
Man City have reached an agreement to sign Dutch midfielder Reijnders from AC Milan for £48million plus £10million in add-ons, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The 26-year-old has already agreed personal terms with City and will pen a five-year contract at the Etihad.
Pep Guardiola will have both Reijnders and Ait-Nouri in time for the upcoming FIFA Club World Cup, with their medicals scheduled for this weekend.
City kick off their campaign on June 18 against Moroccan side Wadad AC.
Is Tijjani Reijnders the real deal?
Tijjani Reijnders has been on fire for AC Milan this season.
In the two years since his move to Milan from AZ Alkmaar, Reijnders has firmly established himself as one of Europe’s best midfielders.
The Dutch international has enjoyed an unreal campaign, netting 15 goals and five assists in 54 appearances.
With a 92.6% pass accuracy and 90% long ball accuracy in the Champions League this season, Reijnders' passing ability is one of his key attributes.
Reijnders can comfortably dictate play from anywhere in midfield, having been deployed in both defensive and offensive roles by Sergio Conceicao.
It is no surprise to see one of AC Milan’s biggest talents exit the club this summer, following the Rossoneri’s dreadful campaign in which they failed to qualify for Europe.
City have certainly got themselves a quality player at a bargain price.
