Soccer analysis: Florian Wirtz and  Marcus Rashford - 10 players who will be on the move this summer

As we approach the end of the season and enter into the summer break, we often see many transfer rumours fly about, especially as the upcoming transfer window is different to any we have seen before as a result of the Club World Cup.

Here, Transfer News Blitz writer Alec Hayward takes a look into the players who are expected to leave their clubs, as well as the current favourites to land their signatures.

Gregor Kobel, Borussia Dortmund

Interested clubs: Newcastle United and Chelsea

In recent weeks, news has circulated that Gregor Kobel could be set to leave Borussia Dortmund, with England the front-running destination for the Swiss goalkeeper.

Both Newcastle United and Chelsea are hoping to sign a new shot stopper this summer.

The Blues are reportedly after a new No.1, whereas Eddie Howe’s Newcastle are looking for a reliable keeper who can push the injury-prone Nick Pope for a starting spot at St. James’ Park.

Kobel is ranked as one of the best goalkeepers in Europe, however, he has had a bit of an off season this campaign, as have Dortmund as a whole, who sit sixth in the Bundesliga.

The 27-year-old’s agent has recently been spotted in London and was believed to have met with both Premier League clubs.

Chelsea have reportedly prepared an offer of £51million for the Swiss international.

However, the heated race for Champions League qualification in the Premier League could leave a potential move for Kobel by either club unlikely, as there is every chance both Newcastle and Chelsea finish outside of the top four.

Liam Delap, Ipswich Town

Interested clubs: Manchester United, Chelsea, Newcastle United and Liverpool

Liam Delap has enjoyed a good individual debut season for Ipswich Town, with the 22-year-old scoring 12 goals in the Premier League this campaign.

The striker’s good form was enough for a host of top teams to take note, as many look to strengthen their frontline this summer.

Despite the Tractor Boys’ relegation back to the Championship, Delap has been able to showcase his great physicality, attacking ability and dribbling in a poor side.

The Englishman has a relegation clause in his Ipswich contract, meaning he will be available for just £30million in the upcoming transfer window.

Manchester United are expected to be the frontrunners to land Delap, as the Red Devils look to move on from Rasmus Højlund and Joshua Zirkzee.

Chelsea and Liverpool are set to rival Ruben Amorim’s side, with both clubs on the lookout for a new centre-forward.

With Alexander Isak arguably the most sought-after footballer in the Premier League, Newcastle are also keen to capture Delap’s signature.

Alejandro Garnacho, Manchester United

Interested clubs: Napoli, Chelsea, Bayer Leverkusen, Tottenam Hotspur, Atletico Madrid

As Manchester United prepare for a huge summer transfer window, they need to generate funds and free up space in their squad, and one player who would offer ‘pure profit’ is Alejandro Garnacho.

The Argentine attracted huge interest in January, most notably from Napoli and Chelsea.

The Serie A side are still looking to fill the gap left by the departure of Khvicha Kvaratskhelia last winter, whereas Enzo Maresca also remains keen on the United wideman.

Garnacho was close to leaving Old Trafford in January, however, he ultimately stayed in Manchester, with many clubs put off by his huge wages.

Tottenham Hotspur, Atletico Madrid and Bayer Leverkusen are said to be monitoring the 20-year-old as they look to improve their attacks.

Kevin De Bruyne, Manchester City

Interested clubs: Inter Miami, San Diego FC and Galatasaray

After announcing his departure from Manchester City, Kevin De Bruyne is set to become a free agent at the end of the season.

The 33-year-old has been heavily linked with a move to the MLS, with Lionel Messi’s Inter Miami and expansion side San Diego said to be interested.

While the Belgian still has the ability to play for a top side in Europe, it is expected that De Bruyne will head to a less demanding league, such as the MLS or the Saudi Pro League.

With City preparing to face Crystal Palace in the FA Cup final next month, the midfielder is fully focused on ending his Manchester City career on a high.

Victor Osimhen, Napoli (On loan at Galatasaray)

Interested clubs: Manchester United and Chelsea

After a summer transfer saga in which Victor Osimhen looked certain to join Al Ahli or Chelsea, the Nigerian ended up joining Turkish side Galatasaray on a season-long loan.

With huge wage demands, the centre-forward still looks set to trade Naples for Saudi Arabia.

Manchester United and Chelsea are both keen on the 26-year-old, however, they could be priced out of a move as the Premier League duo look to slash their wage bills.

Marcus Rashford, Manchester United (On loan at Aston Villa)

Interested clubs: Aston Villa, Tottenham Hotspur and Barcelona

Aston Villa are hopeful of making Marcus Rashford’s loan spell at Villa Park permanent after the forward has impressed since joining the club in January.

The 27-year-old has managed to put up nine goals and assists since moving to the West Midlands, which has prompted other clubs to take note.

Barcelona are reportedly Rashford’s ‘dream’ destination, however, Tottenham Hotspur are also said to be keen on bringing the Mancunian to North London.

Although Unai Emery’s side are believed to have the upper hand, with United hoping to offload Rashford this summer.

Jonathan David, Lille

Interested clubs: Inter Milan, Manchester United, Liverpool, Newcastle United and West Ham United

Another out-of-contract player who has attracted plenty of interest is Canadian forward Jonathan David.

The 25-year-old, who has spent the last five years in France, looks likely to leave Lille this summer, and is nothing short of potential suitors.

Serie A outfit Inter Milan are thought to be favourites ahead of several Premier League sides.

Marc Guéhi, Crystal Palace

Interested clubs: Chelsea, Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur

There has been a lot of noise around Crystal Palace’s captain Marc Guéhi, and a move back to Stamford Bridge is on the cards this summer.

However, Chelsea are set to face stiff competition from fellow Premier League sides Newcastle and Tottenham.

The 24-year-old has certainly outgrown Selhurst Park, with the Eagles keen to cash in on the England international who has just one year left on his contract.

Florian Wirtz, Bayer Leverkusen

Interested clubs: Manchester City and Bayern Munich

One of the most exciting players in Europe, Florian Wirtz, could be on the move this summer.

The 21-year-old played an integral part in Bayer Leverkusen’s incredible Bundesliga title last season as the Germans went unbeaten in the league.

Manchester City are on the hunt for a De Bruyne replacement and have identified Wirtz as the ideal heir to the Belgian’s throne at the Etihad.

However, with Leverkusen after at least £120million for the midfielder, Pep Guardiola’s side could turn to other options.

Bayern Munich are also said to be extremely keen on signing the German international, with the Bavarians the favourites to sign Wirtz despite being a direct rival to Leverkusen.

Dean Huijsen, AFC Bournemouth

Interested clubs: Real Madrid, Liverpool, Bayern Munich and Chelsea

Dean Huijsen has arguably been one of the players of the season after enjoying a phenomenal breakthrough campaign on the South Coast.

Liverpool are keen to bring in a promising central defender as Virgil van Dijk reaches the latter stages of his career, with Anfield a more than a viable destination for the Spaniard.

However, Real Madrid are also said to be interested, with Huijsen making it no secret it would be his dream move.

The 20-year-old will be available for just £50million, with the race for his signature well and truly on.
