Tottenham analysis: What will Randal Kolo Muani bring to Thomas Frank’s Spurs?
Deadline Day has come and gone, with Premier League clubs spending a whopping £3billion this summer.
Tottenham Hotspur brought in Paris Saint-Germain forward Randal Kolo Muani as their last signing of the transfer window.
The 26-year-old moves to North London on a straight swap from Paris for the upcoming campaign.
The Frenchman moved to Serie A giants Juventus in January on a six-month loan, with 13 goal involvements in 20 games.
Why did Tottenham Hotspur sign Randal Kolo Muani?
Kolo Muani comes in to reinforce the frontline at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, following fresh injury concerns to Dominic Solanke.
Although, as a highly versatile player, there are lots of ways for Thomas Frank to get the best out of the 26-year-old.
The Dane will certainly appreciate Kolo Muani’s experience, having played at the highest level across his career.
Of course, the forward’s most infamous moment was THAT miss in the 2022 World Cup final, in which he was denied the winning goal by Emiliano Martinez.

Randal Kolo Muani is clinical
Nonetheless, Kolo Muani has a prolific record in front of goal.
During his breakthrough campaign with Eintracht Frankfurt, the French international netted 23 goals in all competitions.
That experience of playing in the Bundesliga will translate well to the Premier League, due to the similarities between the two divisions.
What sort of player is Randal Kolo Muani?
Spurs are getting a forward that suits the physicality of the Premier League, as Kolo Muani can use his body to keep the ball and shrug off defenders.
The Frenchman’s strengths in goal scoring are also quite varied, as he is not a one-dimensional player.
Kolo Muani thrives off unsettling defenders with his ability to score goals in multiple ways.
Standing at six-foot-two-inches, the forward is strong in the air, while also being a lethal finisher inside the box.
If Tottenham can feed Kolo Muani, he will score, having outperformed his xG over the last five campaigns.
While an out-and-out goal scorer, the French forward is also creative, with 14 assists in his last season in Germany.
This is why he can also be effective on either flank as a winger, as he excels in making the correct decisions on the counter-attack.

A tough spell in Paris
It has to be mentioned that Kolo Muani’s spell at PSG has certainly not been worthy of the €90million the Parisians paid in 2023.
The Frenchman has found it difficult to establish himself in Paris and get a consistent run of games for Luis Enrique’s side.
Not to forget that Kolo Muani came in as an understudy to Kylian Mbappe, not someone who can be easily displaced.
The pressure and scrutiny of coming to a Champions League titan clearly weighed heavily.
At Spurs, he will be able to start more regularly, sharing the role with Brazilian Richarlison.
While the expectations of supporters will still be high, there is less intense pressure to perform in North London compared to in the French capital.

Following Son Heung-Min’s departure, Kolo Muani will likely be deployed on the left.
