Newcastle Utd news: Will Yoane Wissa join Nick Woltemade at St. James’ Park before Deadline Day?
Brentford forward Yoane Wissa is ready to try to force a move away from the Gtech Stadium amid renewed interest from Newcastle United.
Eddie Howe has prioritised attacking reinforcements this summer, especially with wantaway striker Alexander Isak’s efforts to push for a move to Liverpool.
The Magpies, who have been heavily restricted by the Premier League’s Profit and Sustainability Rules, have managed to revamp their front line.
Winger Anthony Elanga was brought in from Nottingham Forest for £55million, while the versatile Jacob Ramesy joined from Aston Villa.
More recently, German centre forward Nick Woltemade was signed for a huge club-record £69million from Bundesliga outfit VfB Stuttgart.
Now, DR Congo and Bees frontman Wissa has released a statement in hopes of forcing a move to St. James’ Park.

Yoane Wissa speaks out
Despite a busy summer of incomings, Newcastle are still understood to be keen on signing Wissa.
The Magpies had reportedly tabled a bid worth £40million earlier this month, but Brentford stood strong on their stance to keep their star man.
With just over 24 hours until the transfer window slams shut, Wissa has played his last hand in hopes of securing a move to the North East.
On Instagram, the DR Congo international said: “Over the past few weeks, there has been increased speculation about my future at Brentford Football Club.
“As a result, I wanted to speak directly and honestly about exactly where things stand.
“I have stayed silent for much of the summer, but with just hours remaining of the transfer window, I feel compelled to make it clear that I want to leave Brentford.
“I believe the club are unduly standing in my way despite a series of fair offers throughout the summer”
He continued: “Earlier this summer, I held open discussions with the club’s senior management, including key directors and the new head coach.
“I made clear my intention to explore a new challenge.
“During these conversations, it was confirmed to me and my representatives that the club would not stand in my way if a reasonable offer was received.”
Wissa went on to confirm that he had received a “formal offer” from another Premier League club, believed to be Newcastle.
The 28-year-old went on to say that he had been left in a “difficult and frustrating” position by the Bees and hoped that a “fair and reasonable” resolution could be reached before the transfer window shuts.

Who else could Newcastle United sign?
Newcastle are also thought to be interested in Wolverhampton Wanderers forward Jorgen Strand Larsen.
The Magpies reportedly had a bid worth £55million turned down by Wolves for the Norwegian, according to Fabrizio Romano.
It seems fairly likely that Howe & Co. will look to make another offer for either Wissa or Strand Larsen before the conclusion of the summer transfer window on Monday.
