Newcastle Utd news: Who will replace Alexander Isak? Magpies agree deal for Yoane Wissa
Newcastle United have agreed a deal to sign Yoane Wissa from fellow Premier League side Brentford.
The Magpies, who have already signed German international Nick Woltemade, have been keen to bring in another forward.
Eddie Howe has been a long-standing admirer of Wissa, who released a statement last week in hopes of forcing a move to St. James’ Park.
The DR Congo international believed that the Bees were “unduly standing in the way” of what he thought was a “fair offer”.
Over the summer transfer window, Newcastle have had several bids turned down for the forward.

Yoane Wissa to complete move to North East
Now, the 28-year-old has got his wish.
According to David Ornstein, Newcastle have reached a verbal agreement with Brentford to sign Wissa, in a deal reportedly worth up to £55million.
It is expected that half of that fee will be paid now, with the other half to be paid in 2026.
The move will also include a sell-on clause that will entitle the West London outfit to 25% of any future fee Newcastle receive for the DR Congo forward.
Brentford have since permitted Wissa to undergo a medical with the Magpies.

Is Yoane Wissa an Alexander Isak replacement?
With Alexander Isak now set for a move to Merseyside, Newcastle needed to bring in a replacement.
Liverpool have smashed the British transfer record for the 25-year-old, splashing £130million on the Swede.
The Magpies have been keen on Wissa for some time, even before it became apparent that Isak would be on the move.
However, alongside Woltemade from Bundesliga side VfB Stuttgart, Howe now has two new forwards to reinforce his attack.
Following an impressive Premier League campaign in which he bagged 19 goals and five assists, Wissa is somewhat of a ready-made replacement for Isak.
